Harris Tweed is the world's only commercially produced hand woven tweed. This pure virgin wool is dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides, and is hand woven in the homes of the islanders of Lewis, Harris, Uist and Barra. So special is this unique cloth that the definition of Harris Tweed is contained in the Harris Tweed Act of 1993 to ensure that all cloth certified with the Harris Tweed Orb symbol is genuine.
